Is it possible to play NBA 2K23 on Epic with my Steam friends or any other platform?

There is always a lot of confusion whenever a new NBA 2K series is launched. Usually, there is no crossplay among different platforms. Also all your progress, including friend lists, is limited to individual platforms. This guide discusses everything you need to know about crossplay.

WILL THERE BE ANY CROSS-PROGRESSION OR CROSSPLAY BETWEEN DIFFERENT NBA 2K23 VERSIONS?

• There will not be any crossplay between different platforms.

• NBA 2K23 will feature a Shared VC Wallet AND MyTEAM Cross-Progression within the same console family (PlayStation®5 <> PlayStation®4, Xbox One X|S <> Xbox Series).

• MyTEAM Cross-Progression allows all MyTEAM Tokens, Points, progress, and cards to be shared across both versions of NBA 2K23 on generations of consoles that are in the same console family. 

• Also, any earned or purchased VC in the Shared VC Wallet is accessible across consoles in the same console family in all generations.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO PLAY NBA 2K23 ON EPIC WITH MY STEAM FRIENDS OR ANY OTHER PLATFORM?

• NBA 2K23 on Steam and Epic is PC-only. This means you can’t play with console gamers, but you will be able to play with your buddies from Epic and/or Steam.

• Please note that the Steam PC version is identical to the Epic Store version and vice versa.

CAN I PLAY THE PLAYSTATION®5 OR XBOX X|S VERSIONS OF NBA 2K23 ON PLAYSTATION®4 OR XBOX ONE?

• The PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of NBA 2K23 are only available on the respective consoles. The new additions and improvements are only possible on those consoles. NBA 2K23 aims to take full advantage of the speed, power, and technology of the new hardware.

CAN I PLAY THE PLAYSTATION®4 OR XBOX ONE VERSIONS OF NBA 2K23 ON PLAYSTATION®5 OR XBOX ONE X|S?

• Through backwards compatibility, the PlayStation®4 and Xbox One versions of NBA 2K23 will be playable on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S, in the same console family. 

• However, the PlayStation®5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series S are not able to play physical game discs using a physical copy of NBA 2K23.
