How to Hop Step in NBA 2K23

The hop step combines the jump shot and the euro step into a single move. Also called the Pro Hop, it’s a move that grants your team an outstanding tactical advantage during a game. Let’s discuss how you can execute hop steps consistently.

HOW TO HOP STEP IN NBA 2K23

Here are the controls you need to know in order to execute a hop step:

Layup

Drive in towards the basket and, as you reach the paint, tap X or Square to execute a hop step. You can also hold down X/Square once again to perform a hop step layup.

Dunk

Drive in towards the basket and, as you reach the paint, tap X or Square to execute a hop step. You can also hold down X/Square and RT/R2 together to perform a hop step dunk.

Double tapping X/Square too quickly will force your character to execute a spin dunk or spin layup. Once you tap X/Square, wait at least a second before pressing down the button again.
