TOP 5 New Upcoming Vampire & Werewolf Games of 2022 & 2023

The horror genre is not just for Halloween time! Gamers can enjoy frights year-round, especially with the horror game lineup we have for 2022. Games like the zombie-infested Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the Cronenbergian body horror fest Sons of The Forest, and even the oddly sexual H.R. Geiger-inspired Scorn are all projected to launch throughout 2022. However, none of these games feature the staples of horror media that this list concerns itself with: Vampires and Werewolves. These ancient creatures have been petrifying horror lovers for generations, and we will be taking a look at the top 5 upcoming vampire and werewolf games of 2022 and 2023. So grab your emergency stash of garlic and silver bullets, and let’s get going!

  1. Vampire Clans

First on our list is the brood growing vampire management game Vampire Clans by RockGame. In this isometric vamp sim, you will play the role of a vampire living under the stone streets of Paris with a singular goal: grow the strongest vampire clan that you possibly can. To do this, you will need to turn humans to your side, enslave others to harvest their precious blood, and fight enemy vampire clans as well as other monsters. Balance your blood reserves with your growing clan to increase your power and influence in the Paris underground, and train your newly turned companions with special skills to use in combat like magic and alchemy. Grow out your vampire base in an XCom-style 2D series of interconnected rooms, each with a special purpose. Become the most powerful vampire leader Paris has ever known when Vampire Clans releases in the near future for PC.

  1. V Rising

Centuries have passed since you last saw the world outside of your tomb. You are weak, your empire has crumbled, and no one remembers who you are. This is how V Rising begins, a Diablo-style isometric survival game where you will need to gather materials, craft weapons, and drink blood in order to regain your former power and reputation as a great vampire lord. Explore a large open world full of danger and secrets, and plan your rise to power according to the game’s day/night cycle. The harsh rays of the sun will burn and blister your pale skin until you burst into flames and eventually become a mere pile of ash. Stick to the blessed cover of night to go out into the nearby villages and take what you need from the citizenry or go on quests with up to three other budding vampire royals. Once you are established, begin re-building your kingdom back to its former glory through an in-depth building mechanic. The world will remember your name when V Rising sinks its teeth into PC sometime in 2022.

  1. Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong

The latest entry in the Vampire: The Masquerade series of games is slowly waking from its slumber as Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong. This narrative RPG is being developed by Big Bad Wolf and is set to feature three unique playable vampires, each sporting their own abilities. Upgrade these abilities over the course of the game according to your preferred style of play for each character. As the story progresses, you will be faced with a number of moral choices, none of which will have a clear-cut right or wrong answer. These decisions will form your relationships with the characters around you as well as how the story progresses and ultimately ends. Will you hide your vampiric powers from the humans around you or use them with reckless abandon, revealing yourself to the world? This choice, along with many others, is yours when Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong arrives for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC on May 19th, 2022.

  1. Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood

Our next game on this list shares the World of Darkness franchise with our previous entry. Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is a role-playing action-adventure that puts you in the furry shoes of Cahal, a werewolf who has been excommunicated from his tribe, on a journey to stop the shady Pentex corporation from polluting Cahal’s hunting lands of the American Northwest. Change between three forms at will: the sneaky wolf form, the inconspicuous human form, and the powerful, combat-oriented Garou form that turns you into a hulking mass of teeth and fur. Your choice of form in any scenario is crucial to your mission. Infiltrate Pentex buildings as a wolf, speak to the people inside in your human form, then tear them apart in Garou form when Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood makes its way to Steam on February 7th, 2022.

*Note: Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood initially launched for Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and the Epic Games Store on February 4th, 2021.

  1. Redfall

Our most anticipated vampire game making its way to horror fans everywhere is Arkane Studio’s Redfall. The makers of the Dishonored series and Deathloop are no strangers to first-person open-world action games, and Redfall is looking to be the next evolution of their familiar style of game. Play as a team of four vampire hunters as they work their way through a scientifically induced vampire plague. A cast of memorable characters, a wide array of creative weapons, and endless waves of fanged night terrors await you when Redfall drives a stake through the heart of Xbox Series X/S and PC in September 2022.

  • Mike Alexander

Mike has been playing video games since he was able to hold a controller, having been fascinated by Sonic 2 on his mom’s Sega Genesis. That fascination and passion for the art form has grown exponentially nearly 30 years later, and he doesn’t see that fading away anytime soon.
