There are some things in this world that we just can’t escape from, death, taxes, and the publics’ love of zombies. Popular titles like Left 4 Dead, Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, The Last of Us, and The Walking Dead: Season has shown us that people love seeing the living dead take over the world.

It’s also fun to wonder if you’d survive in a zombie games world. Even though most of the time, the answer is no. This blog will show you seven exciting zombie games coming in 2022 and give you some crucial information about each one.

Back 4 Blood

Back 4 Blood is a multiplayer first-person shooter survival horror game developed by Turtle Rock Studios. The game takes place after an outbreak has killed or infected most of humanity. A hardened group of survivors called The Cleaners are fighting the parasite-infected ridden to take back their world.

As of right now, there are four confirmed special ridden and eight different cleaners. You can also play as the cleaners or the Infected, and both sides come with unique abilities, playstyles, and weapons to keep gameplay fresh.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will publish Back 4 Blood, and it will be available for all Xbox and PlayStation consoles and Microsoft Windows on October 8th, 2021.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human

Dying Light 2 is a single and multiplayer survival horror action roleplaying game developed by Techland. The game takes place twenty years after society collapsed due to the Harran Virus leaving the world in a modern Dark Age.

During the day, the infected will hide in buildings to avoid the harmful UV rays from the sun. But a night, they will leave their nest and wander out onto the streets looking for prey.

And in Dying Light 2, nighttime exploration is incentivized in ways such as valuables being left in infected buildings. As well as developing the game, Techland will also publish it. The title will be released on February 4th, 2022, for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S.

The Day Before

The Day Before is a single & multiplayer action and adventure MMO game developed by Fntastic. You wake up alone in a post-pandemic America that has fallen to flesh-eating infected humans. Survivors commonly kill each other for food, weapons, cars, and other valuable resources. Your goal is to set out and find answers and, of course, survive.

The game sets itself apart from other MMOs by putting a focus on exploration and survival. This focus is highlighted with its wide range of vehicles. Also, the game pays a lot of attention to detail. For instance, each vehicle will leave unique tracks in the terrain, which will let players know what car they’re tracking.

MYTONA will publish The Day Before on June 21st, 2022, for Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 5, and Microsoft Windows.

The Callisto Protocol

The Callisto Protocol is a single-player survival horror game created by Striking Distance Studios and Skybound Entertainment.

This title is set in 2320 on a Jupiter moon named Callisto in a maximum-security prison called Black Iron Prison. The game focuses on horrifying monsters and the conspiracy surrounding the prison itself. While there isn’t much known about the protagonist, what has been revealed is that they’re stuck inside the prison, and the game follows them escaping and uncovering the prison’s secrets.

The game takes inspiration from Dead Space, and Glen Schofield (Dead Space’s co-creators) is the founder and CEO of Striking Distance. His goal with this game is to create the most terrifying game of all time. And surprisingly, Callisto takes place in the same fictional universe as PUBG, but it takes place three hundred years in the future. Despite that, there will still be small connections throughout the game.

KRAFTON will publish The Callisto Protocol sometime in 2022 for Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 5, and Microsoft Windows.

Evil Dead: The Game

Evil Dead is a single/multiplayer survival horror game created by Saber Interactive. If you’ve seen the Evil Dead films, then you’re in for a treat, as this game takes place in the original log cabin from the first two movies. Players control four characters from the franchise and collect artifacts in the woods to close rifts that allow monsters and demons to enter their world.

Players can also control the Demon and possess Deadites, the environment, or survivors to stop them from getting away. And unlike other horror games, players will be able to defend themselves from attackers. The game offers up to 25 weapons comprised of different weapons from the franchise, such as Ash’s gauntlet.

Boss Team Games will publish Evil Dead: The Game in February 2022 for Playstations 4 & 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, the Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows.

Projekt Z

Projekt Z is a single/ multiplayer action and adventure RPG Strategy game developed by 314 Arts. This title is a free-to-play first-person shooter set in WW2 on a secret German island. The Germans found zombies on the island, and Projekt Z aims to turn those zombies into weapons for war.

Its core game mode revolves around the HUB, which lets players craft weapons, ammo, and other resources. Players will also use the HUB to start and replay missions. They’ll also be able to build with a feel similar to Fallout’s settlement building system. 314 Arts have not issued a release date for Projekt Z, and as of right now, it will only be available to PC players.

Undead Citadel

Undead Citadel is a single-player action and adventure RPG game developed by Dark Curry S.L. Battle of against hundred of undead in this action-packed VR game set in medieval times. You’ll slash, stab, smash, shoot, and dismember countless enemies as you fight your way into the deepest parts of the cursed citadel to discover the origin of the plague.

There are over sixty hand-to-hand combat weapons such as swords, axes, and war hammers. And each weapon is unique, but your weapons will break over time which is why you’ll want to keep grabbing the enemy’s tools after killing them. Dark Curry S.L. has not given a release date for Undead Citadel, and it will only be available for the PC.
