Battlefield 1: 10 Best Guns/Weapons Guide

bf1guns

Battlefield 1 is an amazing game. If you’ve taken to the field, either in the campaign or multiplayer matches, you’ve seen how realistic and intricate this shooter is. That means you have to be absolutely prepared when you head into any match. Fortunately, there are plenty of amazing guns for every class. We’re here to help you go over 10 of the best weapons you can equip as an Assault, Medic, Scout, or Support class character.

M97 Trench Gun

Assault characters tend to rely on weapons like SMGs and shotguns. One of the most versatile shotguns you can get in Battlefield 1 is the M97 Trench Gun. Which is great, since it is a level 1 unlock. It has a good rate of fire, and it’s often better than some of the other shotguns you’ll unlock (though it doesn’t offer you many shots). Unfortunately, there is quite a recoil, but there are multiple variants in the multiplayer that let you pick the one best for you. The M97 Trench Gun Hunter, with its bayonet and slam-fire function, might be best, even though its accuracy goes down when you actually slam-fire it.

Martini-Henry

The scout’s level 10 unlock is a great weapon, don’t get me wrong. The Martini-Henry is an impressive rifle for someone who wants to do some sniping. It’ll hit between 30-80 meters, is accurate, and will definitely take down your enemy if you hit it. “If” is the important part. As cool as this weapon is, you can only fire one bullet before you need to reload, that bullet moves very slowly, and it takes quite a bit of time to reload. It’s cool enough, but probably not the most practical weapon you’ll find.

M1909 Benét-Mercié

1003BBB7 4049 4781 AEAE C5368ADC2DC4 901 000001291FDF747E tmp

The M1909 Benét-Mercié automatic/semi-automatic machine gun will help your Support lay down the kind of cover your team will need to survive. It only sends out 450 rounds-per-minute, but it’s incredibly accurate. As another perk, it’s a gun that works either stationary or on the go. When you are moving, though, it’ll take a toll on the number of shots fired out of its 30-round clip. It’s no wonder this gun is available from the start. It may be a good idea to use the gunner variant, since it’s the most accurate.

Autoloading 8

Here’s the great thing about the Battlefield 1 Autoloading 8 Medic rifle. If used properly, it’s as effective as an assault-class shotgun. You just need to get the right one of these semi-automatic rifles. When you reach rank 2, the Autoloading 8 .25 Extended is a good weapon to use on the field. It has good damage and accuracy, as well as hip control. It can hold 16-round magazines and fires 360 rounds per minute. The recoil’s annoying, but the Extended variant does have a quicker reload and holds more bullets.

Selbstlader M1916

DA09E29E 976F 47F4 B5E3 79B6357A5D6D 901 0000012A49479AF7 tmp

Battlefield 1’s M1916 is a great weapon for Medics who want to be something of an immovable force. It deals great damage, has a 225 rate of fire, and a 20-round magazine. The downside? You pretty much have to be patient and stationary. This gun takes a toll. It has quite a recoil and takes substantial time to reload. It’s immediately available, though make sure you get the Optical variant so you can rely on its improved accuracy to mitigate that recoil.

MP 18

I bet you wouldn’t expect a gun you have immediate access to as a Battlefield 1 Assault class character to be one of the best options, but then you may not have had a chance to put the MP 18 through its paces. It’s a SMG gun with 32-round magazines that shoot out at 550 rounds per minute. It’s a fast, accurate gun that can take down your opponents, one you wouldn’t even need to aim with if you didn’t want to. There are even three variants, with the Trench option being the first one you get and perhaps best of them.

M1903

You want a sniper rifle your Scout can rely on in Battlefield 1. You want a M1903. This is a gun that can hit a target up to 98 meters away, letting you be patient and nail your enemy at the right moment. It’s accurate and has a 53 round-per-minute rate of fire and a five round magazine. I’d say the M1903 Sniper is your best bet for accuracy and performance, though the Marksman variant isn’t bad either.

Mondragón

7CF5AE17 DF55 4AEE B7F0 FDC9A73EAA5C 901 0000012BD43722D2 tmp

The Mondragón Medic semi-automatic rifle that’s great if you want to be close up or at a distance. Which is fantastic, since you might want a Medic to be on the front lines or hanging back. Its recoil isn’t bad, it has good bullet velocity, and it does great damage. Good range too, depending on the model. The Mondragón Marksman is great at a distance, with its 10 round magazine and 257 bullet rate, while the Artillery is good for everything else. Plus, it unlocks at rank one.

BAR M1918

7458B727 B882 4DCC B6B0 C50C50A5F621 901 0000012C6491E2C5 tmp

Battlefield 1’s BAR M1918 is an amazing automatic rifle that’s great for the Support class, because it lets you lay down support or occasionally go on the offensive. It’s the fastest reloading weapon for Supports, which is great since it has good accuracy and is good for hipfire. It’s pretty strong, though not the strongest weapon in its kit, but works well when getting someone close by. The only downside is, you need to reload it frequently, since it only has a 20 round magazine. But, if you play smart, you’ll be fine. The Storm is great if you want the most accurate form. Reach rank 2, and this gun’s yours.

Hellriegel 1915

EC92B6E6 4DAA 4E62 B62C C5F6E88995F9 901 0000012CCD5A9790 tmp

When you’re going into Battlefield 1, there’s one role almost everyone could comfortably settle into. That’s someone dedicated to attacks. The Assault class is the general, go-to soldier, so it’s only fitting it’s level 10 unlock is probably the best weapon in the game. The Hellriegel SMG is a balanced weapon that’s accurate, controls well, and deals lots of damage. You can have 60 rounds at a time, sending bullets out at 650 rounds per minute. Its only downside is a reload time that can take some time, but the Hellriegel won’t let you down.
