HOW TO USE THE PRO STICK TO SHOOT IN NBA 2K23?

Follow these simple steps to use the pro stick effectively in NBA 2K23. If you don’t like the pro-stick shooting of NBA 2K23, you can disable “shot aiming” from your options and use the shot button instead. Unfortunately, this method will not provide the same level of shooting accuracy, so we recommend learning to use the pro stick instead.

The pro stick mechanics in NBA 2K23 now have a completely new meter, and this meter has a sizing window that shows the shot’s quality.

A larger window indicates a better shot that is probably not very contested, whereas a smaller window indicates a poor shot (which may be the result of player exhaustion or a shot that is heavily contested).

For the perfect shot, release the stick as soon as the meter reaches the black marker.

Please note that you do not need to shoot manually; instead, focus on your aim and keep your hands steady while the player does the rest. Here are the basics of the pro stick controls you should memorize:

Passing	Press R1 + RS
Jump Shot	Hold the Right Stick down and then release
Shooting/Dribble	Press and hold the Right Stick

It takes a lot of practice to become an expert at it. Set the game to free play and practice shooting from different angles while learning how to get green shots. The more you practice, the easier it will get. Mastering the pro stick grants you access to better moves such as the Explosive Behind the Back. Here are a few tips to get you started:

Simply hold the stick down if you’re shooting from the Point Guard position.

It’s better to use the shooting buttons (Square for Playstation and X for Xbox) because they are more accurate ONLY in the Wing area.

However, the Pro Stick offers better accuracy and control when you’re in the corner. And if you’re not open, do a jab step to confuse the opponent before passing or shooting the ball.
