Utilizing recruitable NPCs as soon as they are available will make the game easier. Their Stat and Skill amounts are randomized a little, but the amounts are still very high considering when you can pick them up. Any Spells they start with are static. You can Recruit them from the NPC interaction pulldown menu, which you can access by right clicking the circle icon next to one of your character’s portraits.

Dismissing an NPC will tell you where they go, and you can recruit them again. However, they will lose any Stat/Skill increases and Spells they have gained/learned while traveling with you, so I would not recommend Dismissal unless you really want to get rid of them, or you have only just recruited them and want to dupe their equipment (Poison Daggers for everyone!).

Found: Village of Crowl, inside the Wayfarer’s Inn

Say Yes when she asks you to help her find her sister after clicking the Recruit option in the NPC interaction menu. Gives you Stone to Flesh Potions when recruited the first time. Comes equipped with a Poison Dagger, but cannot reequip it if you remove it. Is naked, otherwise.
