Victoria 3 - Orders, Fronts and HQs

Every general’s got three main moves they can pull when it comes to fronts or HQs:

Advance Front: This is all about going on the offensive. If a general is already at the front, the countdown to a showdown starts right away. If they’re somewhere else, they gotta hustle to the front first. And once they’re there, it’s game on. And hey, even if they’re on the Advance, they won’t shy away from defending if the other side gets feisty.

Defend Front: This is the chill, defensive stance. The general’s there to hold the line, not start anything. But if they win when someone else starts something, they can take back some land.

Stand By: This is basically telling your general to kick back at their home base. They’ll still help out if there’s a defensive fight at their HQ, but without their usual flair.

Remember, generals pushing on the Advance or holding the Defend line will wear out faster than those just chilling on Stand By.

Battles can get messy. Fronts might split up, or if you push all the way to the end of an area, they might vanish. If that happens, your general will just head to the next closest front.

Losing Ground

When the battle lines shift, someone’s gonna lose some ground. But while the war’s still on, it’s mostly about who’s hitting their war goals. Even if enemy troops roll in and take over, your buildings keep doing their thing for your home market.

Bouncing Back After Battles

Once the dust settles after a scrap, battalions start getting their mojo back. But, watch out: they might have to jump back into the fray before they’re fully charged up.
