It’s been a while since Sega’s Company of Heroes series has graced RTS fans with its presence, but it is finally back with February 2023’s Company of Heroes 3. Like previous games, Company of Heroes 3 places you in the role of commander of air & land military units for four different factions.
Intense real time battles separate the strong leaders from the weak and brand-new features like the Dynamic Campaign Map & International Battlegroups add to the immersion of the Company of Heroes experience. Speaking of destruction, the proprietary Essence Engine developed by Relic allows for an unmatched level of destructibility in every environment. Whether the communities and neighborhoods you travel through remain standing or are leveled to the ground will depend on your skill as a military leader.
Part of what determines your level of skill in this game is your mastery of the controls. As an RTS, Company of Heroes III has a complex control system that gives you the full control of your units you need to skillfully manipulate them. I usually have trouble committing RTS controls to memory, but then again, I didn’t have a guide. But you do!
