PES 2018 – New Controls (Set Piece) – Xbox One

Goal Kick

Kicking Controls – Adjust the direction using LEFT STICK. Press B to kick the ball. Hold it down for more distance. Adjust the ball’s trajectory with LEFT STICK ↑/↓.

Long Free Kick

Kicking Controls – Adjust the direction using LEFT STICK. Press B to kick the ball. Hold it down for more distance. You can curl the ball with LEFT STICK Left / Right and adjust its trajectory with Up / Down.

Set Piece Strategies – You can curl the ball with  LEFT STICK Left / Right and adjust its trajectory with Up / Down. Instruct your team as to which strategy to use with D-PAD. This strategy applies only to set pieces taken in the opposition’s half.

Short Free Kick (When in possession)

Kicking Controls – Adjust the direction using LEFT STICK. Press X to shoot. Press and hold for a more powerful shot. You can curl the ball with LEFT STICK Left / Right and adjust its trajectory with Up / Down. Press Y when your opponent shoots to have the goalkeeper make a step. If you guess the direction correctly, you’ll have a better chance of blocking the shot.

Short Free Kick (When out of possession)

Defensive Strategies – Press Y when your opponent shoots to have the goalkeeper make a step. If you guess the direction correctly, you’ll have a better chance of blocking the shot.

Corner Kick

Kicking Controls – Adjust the direction using LEFT STICK. Press B to kick the ball. Hold it down for more distance. You can curl the ball with LEFT STICK  Left / Right and adjust its trajectory with Up / Down.

Set Piece Strategies – Press D-PAD Left / Right to open the strategy window. Instruct your team as to which strategy to use with D-PAD.

PENALTY KICK (When in possession)

Kicking Controls – When holding RB a target marker will display on screen. Adjust the direction using LEFT STICK. Press X to shoot. Holding down will increase shot power, but at the expense of accuracy.

PENALTY KICK (When out of possession)

Goalkeeping Controls – Tilt the LEFT STICK to the Left or Right before the kick to choose a direction to move in. When the set piece taker kicks the ball, you will jump in the direction you tilted. The earlier you tilt the LEFT STICK, the farther you can jump.
