Give the Quartermaster to your role to your character from the Clan Menu (Press L) and have a ‘Food Variety’ bonus to your party morale. Once you’ve joined a faction and you own a Fief, spend time in your settlements, and it’ll increase your Steward experience as well. A high Steward skill will increase your party size. You’ll get +1.3 Party Size for every level. TIP: Companions with high Steward skill make one of the best party leaders since their party size will be bigger than the rest.
