Cities: Skylines 2 - How to Clean Polluted Water Fast

Pollution’s a sneaky beast. It creeps into your water when sewage pipes are too close or ground pollution gets a bit rowdy. The thing is, it travels with the flow of the water, spreading & diluting as it mixes. But don’t let it fool ya โ€“ it can still pack a punch.

Where You Put Stuff Matters… A Lot

Placement is key, folks. Your Water Pumping Station & Sewage Outlet โ€“ think of them like your city’s kidneys. You wouldn’t want them working in a toxic environment right?? So keep ’em far enough apart to avoid cross-contamination -> Don’t put your groundwater pumps where the ground’s all funky with pollution. Just don’t…

Tools of the Trade

The game gives you some cool tools like the Water Infoview & Surface Water Flow overlay… They show you how & where your water’s moving, which is super handy.

The Cleanup Plan

Hereโ€™s how to tackle the pollution fast:

  • First, remove any sewage pipes causing trouble.

  • Then grab your Terrain Tool & select ‘Level Terrain’

  • Pump up the brush size, strength stays at 100…

  • Find a high spot & slowly drag the tool over the polluted area. Take it easy โ€“ you don’t wanna mess up your landscape.

  • This should clear the polluted water but if some’s left, just go over it again. Sometimes pushing the terrain around helps.

  • Reshape your coastline or terrain after to make it look nice.

Other Tactics??

  • How about a poo pond? Dig a hole near the water & direct your sewage there… Itโ€™s like a special spot just for waste.

  • Or take your sewage line right to the map’s edge… The game handles selling your sewage. keeping things cleaner…
