Ark: Survival Ascended - Best Resource-Gathering Creatures

Yo survivors! Ready to become the ultimate resource-gathering boss in Ark Survival Ascended? Buckle up, ’cause I’m about to drop some knowledge bombs that’ll turn your Ark game from zero to hero. We’re talking the nitty-gritty, the down & dirty on the best creatures for snagging every resource under the sun (and even some from the depths of the ocean).

Fiber: The Soft Touch

  • Moscops: This little guy? A fiber-finding fiend. Easy to tame, & if you spec it just right, it’s like a fiber factory on legs. Perfect for early game hustles.

  • Gigantopithecus: Speedy Gonzales of fiber collection; this big ape gathers on the go, making it a prime choice for efficient resource runs.

  • Therizinosaurus: Don’t let the size fool ya โ€“ it’s delicate with those claws, perfect for snagging fiber like nobody’s business.

The Hard Stuff: Crystal, Metal, & Flint

  • Ankylosaurus: The heavyweight champ of metal & flint collection. Pair it with an Argentavis, & you’re in the money.

  • Doedicurus & Dunkleosteus: These two are your go-to for underwater metal adventures. Dunkleosteus is especially slick in the deep blue.

Bug Busters: Chitin & Keratin

  • Megatherium: Top of the food chain in bug-infested caves. Gets a crazy buff & turns into a chitin-collecting monster.

  • Diplocaulus: A surprising pick, but toss this bad boy into the ocean & watch the chitin roll in.

  • Sabertooth: Not just a pretty face โ€“ it’s a keratin-gathering machine, especially against bigger, bonier dinos.

Wood You Believe It: Best Lumberjacks

  • Castoroides: Number one wood gatherer per tree, plus itโ€™s got this cool wood weight reduction thing going on…

  • Mammoth & Therizinosaurus: Got a buddy? Then get one of these. Together youโ€™re like a lumberjack dream team -> chopping wood faster than a beaver on espresso.

Thatch: Don’t Overlook It!

  • Brontosaurus: This big boy’s the king of thatch collection. One swing & youโ€™ve got more thatch than you know what to do with…

  • Mammoth & Stegosaurus: Good alternatives, especially if you flip the Stego into attack mode.

Stone โ€“ The Rocky Road

  • Doedicurus: The undisputed champ of stone gathering. Pop this dude in a river & watch him go โ€“ it’s like stone gathering on fast forward.

  • Ankylosaurus: A solid choice, especially when you’re already out there mining other stuff.

Hide & Meat โ€“ The Butcher’s Block

  • Giganotosaurus & Carcharodontosaurus: These are your top dogs for meat & hide. They’re like walking meat grinders…

  • T-Rex & Direwolf: Close seconds, but the Direwolf is way easier to get your hands on.

Oil & Polymer โ€“ The Slippery & Sticky

  • Dunkleosteus & Ankylosaurus: For oil, these are your go-tos. The Dunkleosteus is like an underwater drill for those oil nodes.

  • Dire Bear & Yutyrannus: Surprisingly, these guys are polymer pros. The Dire Bear is especially good on the aberration map, while the Yutyrannus isn’t too shabby either.

Sap & Silica Pearls โ€“ The Sticky & Shiny

  • Archaeopteryx: Set this little birdie near the Redwood Forest, let it wander, & bam, youโ€™ve got sap…

  • Anglerfish: The Michael Phelps of silica pearl gathering โ€“ just dive deep & watch it work.

  • Otter & Diplocaulus: These cuties are pretty handy too, especially with the Otter sometimes scoring you black pearls…
