Go to the Gate Reception as soon as you enter the lobby. Communicate with your friend(s) and make sure all of you enter the same lobby, in the same region. Once you do so, you will be able to see each other’s Lobby Characters. Keep in mind there will be a few seconds of delay.

From there, one of you has to create a Ring Match by pressing RT on the Xbox controller, R2 on the PlayStation controller. Change the settings as you wish, but set a password. As an example, the password could be 9001. When a friend attempts to enter your ring match, they need to enter the password 9001, and will be successfully connected. This also stops random people from joining your game. From then on, you can start matches against each other.
