Conan Exiles is not just about building giant sandstone boxes, getting eaten by crocodiles, and pretending your thrall army is “totally under control.” At some point, you also need to cook something better than sad meat on a campfire. That is where Specialist Cooking recipes come in. These hidden recipe books unlock better meals, stews, teas, soups, jerky, spicy dishes, and other useful food items that can help with survival, temperature management, corruption removal, stamina, and general “please stop starving in the desert” problems.

How Specialist Cooking Works
Most Specialist Cooking recipes are learned by finding and interacting with recipe books scattered around the Exiled Lands.
Once learned, the recipes are permanently unlocked and can usually be crafted at a Stove. You do not need a cooking thrall for the basic Specialist Cooking recipes, although some other food or drink recipes may require special benches, thralls, or different crafting stations.
Important: Some recipe books are in dangerous areas. Bring armor, healing items, food, water, and preferably a strong follower unless you enjoy turning a cooking trip into a corpse run.
