Daybreak Game Company

Daybreak Game Company is the studio behind some of the most iconic (and stubbornly alive) online games in history. Formerly known as Sony Online Entertainment, they gave the world EverQuest, PlanetSide, DC Universe Online, and a brief but chaotic love affair with H1Z1.

After going solo in 2015 and rebranding as Daybreak, they kept their MMO empire running with a mix of nostalgia, regular expansions, and enough patch notes to crash a wiki. Now part of Swedish publisher EG7, they manage a trio of specialized studios: Darkpaw Games (EverQuest), Dimensional Ink (DCUO), and Rogue Planet Games (PlanetSide 2).

Whether it’s fantasy, superheroes, or sci-fi warfare, Daybreak is all about big online worlds, loyal player bases, and the kind of gameplay where dying just means you’re learning. Slowly.
