Darkpaw Games
Darkpaw Games is the MMO studio equivalent of a raid boss that just won’t die — and we love them for it. Formed in 2020 as a spin-off from Daybreak Game Company, Darkpaw exists for one reason only: to keep the EverQuest and EverQuest II universes alive, updated, and as gloriously grindy as ever.
Named after the infamous gnoll troublemaker Fippy Darkpaw (you know, the guy who dies constantly but keeps coming back), the studio’s entire vibe is “Never Give Up” — and neither have the players, apparently, because both games are still getting expansions over two decades later.
From launching anniversary events like the Year of Darkpaw, to releasing TLP (Time-Locked Progression) servers that let fans relive the pain of 1999, Darkpaw’s job is to serve the nostalgic, the hardcore, and the “I’ve been playing this for 20 years and I’m not stopping now” crowd.
They’re the keepers of classic MMO chaos. They’re the ones keeping Norrath spinning. And if you ever wondered who still patches a game older than some of its players? It’s probably Darkpaw.
