Is The Journey in FIFA 20?
/Is The Journey in FIFA 20?
Sadly not! FIFA 19 featured the third and final installment of Alex Hunter and the soccer pedigree of his family from grandad Jim Hunter to sister Kim Hunter. Alex’s rise from nothing to global star comes to an end, although FIFA is embracing a different type of soccer in FIFA 20.
Volta (FIFA Street mode) Story replaces The Journey
Volta’s Story is a thrilling experience where, along the way, you will create your own avatar, recruit players, build squads, travel to unique environments, face off against “legends of the street” and compete for special rewards in Volta Skillers – the street version of FIFA’s skill games.
The story mode covers all of the various game and pitch styles of Volta, and every match you compete in levels up your character’s attributes. There’s even an RPG-style skill tree, which has you working toward expertise in one area — i.e., finishing or dribbling — or becoming more of a generalist. Although the story didn’t really go anywhere in the first hour — the closest it got to saying anything basically boiled down to “sexism is bad” — the nature of the street game does make the rivalries, trash talking and general drama feel more natural than it did in The Journey.
