How to Find Beaver Dams in Ark: Survival Ascended – The Island Map
This is a super handy guide for those looking to score big on resources like cementing paste, silica pearls, rare flowers, rare mushrooms & a ton of wood… Here we go!!
Where to Find Beaver Dams
South Zone 1 (80.8, 39.1)
Starting in South Zone 1 is common… Just head up the river from there & you’ll start seeing beavers around 80.8, 39.1. This is right at the cliff base, where the jungle and swamp areas meet; deeper you go into the swamp -> the more beavers you’ll spot.
Near Peninsula (91.6, 61.3)
Over on the southern coast, check out the area around 91.6, 61.3. There’s a lagoon with a triangle-shaped island nearby & it’s a popular spot for beavers. This place is relatively safe for looting beaver dams… at least until you actually start looting.
Redwoods Northeast (47.3, 65.8 & 40.7, 72.6)
In the northeast corner of the Redwoods, there are two beaver locations close to each other; one is where the brown water mixes with blue & the other is near a waterfall leading into the jungle. Keep an eye out, as beavers can be a bit elusive here.
Edge of Redwood Forest (54.9, 26.7)
This one is a challenge because the dams are underwater. Located around 54.9, 26.7; you’ll need to be prepared for a dive to get these dams.
Hidden Lake (17.6, 72.6)
Finally check out Hidden Lake at 17.6, 72.6. It’s full of beavers -> which means dams are likely to show up here too.
Tips for Looting
Draw the Beavers Away
When you find a beaver, use a crossbow to attract its attention and lead it away from the dam with a fast flyer like a Pteranodon… Though they look cute, beavers can be surprisingly aggressive.
Quick Loot and Destroy
After leading the beaver away, quickly go back to the dam. Take what you need & discard the rest, especially the wood. This is crucial because if the dam isn’t destroyed, it won’t refill with loot.
Using an Argentavis (RG)
If you have an Argentavis, it’s even better. You can pick up beavers & relocate them, which is helpful for both avoiding conflict & gathering pelt for fur armor…
