Overwatch is certainly one of the most important features of Gears Tactics. It allows you to determine an area to be watched by one of your Gears using a detection cone, which can vary depending on the weapon used. Therefore, any creature making the slightest move in this area will take a number of attacks determined by the amount of APs the soldier had at the end of his turn. For example, if your Gears placed himself in Overwatch with still 3 APs in stock, he will be able to shoot up to 3 times in the watched zone. In addition to the damage inflicted by these attacks, they can also interrupt the enemies, stopping them in their movement, and making them lose the APs they spent.
Most of the basic game actions can trigger the enemy Overwatch (moving, shooting, reviving…), but some skills can be activated without any consequence. To know whether or not a skill can be used without risk, refer to its description, which is available at the time of its selection.
Finally, know that certain skills like the Disabling Shot of the Snub pistol are able to interrupt the enemy’s Overwatch. It is also possible to interrupt an enemy by inflicting a critical hit or with a grenade.
