When you move your left stick to the left or to the right of the goal to aim at the top corner or the bottom left corner, it doesn’t matter when you move the left stick; the penalty kick taker moves his head, there is a unique head animation for the penalty kick taker. If you move the left stick to the right of the player and aim at the top right corner, the penalty kick taker will move his head to the right, so the angle of shooting, and all you need to do is hold the right stick of your controller to the right, and you will save the penalty.

Blocking penalties in FIFA 21 & 22 isn’t the hardest thing to master in the game, but it will take a few tries to get comfortable with all the controls.
