Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a super cute and easy-to-use Photo Mode that lets you frame shots, adjust filters, hide the UI, and pose your character or villagers for perfect island photos. Since most of the tools sit inside a clean interface, knowing the buttons helps you capture moments fast — especially when someone’s doing an emote you don’t want to miss. Here’s a quick, clean reference for the Photo Mode controls so you can snap great pics anytime.

 

  • ZL: Changes available filters

 

  • L: Changes frames

 

  • Directional Buttons: Changes camera angles

 

  • X/Y: Zoom in/out

 

  • R: Look up

 

  • B: Cancel

 

Once you have everything ready, simply take the photo and it will automatically be saved.
